Denzil Lawrence – Personal Trainer

Denzil Lawrence made his name back in 1992 when he became the World Welterweight World Champion -World Kickboxing Association.  A title he retained until 1996.  In total he won 52 fights (including 34 knockouts) out of 60 during his professional career.

Denzil had fought across the world but always struggled to find a good training environment.  He knew what he wanted but couldn’t find it all under one roof, which led him to open the Ultimate Fitness Centre Gym in July 2007.

Denzil has been nominated several times for the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards due to raising over £150,000 for the charity Help for Heroes by training people for White Collar Boxing Fights at the gym.

In 2016 his gym featured on a TV series, City Road. In the same year Nation Radio awarded Denzil ‘ Community Coach of the Year’.

In 2017 Denzil was enrolled in the UK Hall of Fame for Martial Arts.  He was awarded a certificate for his charity fundraising by the founder and creator of Help for Heroes, Brian Perry OBE.

In September 2018, Denzil Lawrence was honoured by the South Wales Echo by being featured as number 58 of the 100 Icons of Black Wales.  He was noted for his charity raising for Help for Heroes and his work for the Stroke Foundation with Champions for Charity White Collar Boxing
